The Hide, Safari Camp is situated in Hwange National Park, in one of Zimbabwe’s prime wildlife areas. Established in 1992, The Hide has become one of our favourite safari venues.
The Hide has all the elements, spectacular wildlife, experienced guides, first class hospitality and living areas that blends into the natural area, whilst creating a real “Out of Africa” safari!

Well known and much loved, The Hide Safari Camp is situated within Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest game reserve, known for its abundant and diverse wildlife, in particular large herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe and lion.
WILD ON COMFORT…
Built in 1992 by the Preston family, The Hide has justly earned its reputation as a great wildlife experience wrapped in warm and welcoming hospitality. An award winning lodge that one can rely on to live up to its high standards, accommodating up to 20 guests in comfortable and spacious tents under thatch. All lodges have en suite indoor and outdoor showers, the deluxe lodges have indoor or outdoor bath tubs as well.
The Hide’s luxury tented suites are uniquely styled along classic lines with a contemporary twist, all are spacious and bathed in natural light. Life in the bush is not just about searching for big game. It is just as much about waking to the chorus of robins and hornbills as the rosy dawn light creeps across the bedspread. It’s about sitting quietly on the verandah to watch the comings and goings of kudu, giraffe, elephant and many more at the waterhole. And, of course, at the end of a full day, there’s that long soak in a hot bath under the stars and the warm bed where you’ll curl up and listen to the sounds of the African night.

PASSIONATE ABOUT NATURE…
The Hide has consistently been voted “Best Safari Camp in Zimbabwe” since 1995. Situated on the Eastern Boundary of Hwange National Park in a five square kilometre area, it is one of the few camps in the National Park itself. Unlike other camps in the area, long drives from the Camp to the Park are not necessary as we are in reality, a part of the Park itself, and the wildlife migration on our private concession is second to none. The Camp opened in 1992 and has undergone four major refurbishments since opening. Our aim is “To offer The Ultimate Wildlife and Wilderness Experience in Zimbabwe”. The Hide features in the book “1000 Places to See Before You Die – A Traveller’s Life List”. The Hide is a proud Founder Member of Classic Safari Camps of Africa.
